14 Ideas for being a good neighbor:
1. Decorate your mailbox or house to brighten the day of people walking by
2. Join your community Facebook page or next door app to stay connected with people in your community
3. Trade items through Lending Libraries – these could even be used for food or household items
4. Trade phone numbers – you could leave a note and your phone number in your neighbor’s mailbox
5. Offer to create a community directory
6. Leave flowers or other small gifts on a neighbor’s porch to brighten their day
7. Create or participate in exercise classes together as a community from your own yard or in a field where everyone can maintain staying six feet apart
8. Create or participate in a community driving scavenger hunt – ride around in your car and look for things in people’s windows or on their doors
9. Leave sidewalk chalk messages at the end of your driveway
10. Move to your front yard and greet neighbors as they walk by
11. Blow bubbles to brighten the day of children walking by
12. Provide work to neighbors who are out of work if possible
13. Help a neighbor with yard work; keeping your social distance
14. Record yourself reading a children’s book and email it to families with children
